The Design Co-Op Event Wrap Up

In March 2018, One Fine Print and Anaca Studio put together a bespoke weekend to connect, collaborate & learn – The Design Co-Op. The event was a part of the National Gallery of Victoria’s Melbourne Design Week.

Spread over three days, The Design Co-Op celebrated the blending of unique Australian design brands and empowered attendees to realise that any space can be transformed into a meaningful ‘home’.

The event aimed to strengthen the existing design community, encourage the growth of new networks, promote boutique local design brands, and offer interactive learning opportunities for both industry professionals and the design-savvy public.

Anne- Claire (from Anaca Studio) and I could not be happier with how the event came together. We managed to bring together 21 collaborators including interior designers, furniture brands and artists, 20 speakers including 4 magazine editors, 3 drink sponsors, 1 launch party with 180 guests, 120 attendees to 5 speaker events and  1 warehouse space transformed into a home showcase and event space in 24 hours. But most importantly we had the opportunity to work collaboratively with people across the industry. It was humbling to see everyone working together and the feedback from everyone was exhilarating.

“It was a pleasure to be involved with The Design Co-Op in 2018. The Talks series was thoughtfully curated and efficiently run by Anne-Claire Petre and Elizabeth Bull, who demonstrated not only a deep passion for the local design community but an understanding of what this community needs – I met many wonderful local creators as a result of the panel and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the event. Anne-Claire and Liz were extremely well-organised and made the panel discussion a delightful experience from start to finish. I would encourage anyone passionate about local design and community to get involved in future editions!”

I think congratulations is indeed from all of us. Well done to everyone for such a fabulous collaboration. It was an absolute pleasure to be involved. Liz and Anne-Claire…you guys are the bomb! Thank you so very much for having the vision and then executing it with such professionalism, style and fun.
