• ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Elizabeth is a highly acclaimed landscape photographer who has been working in the industry for over 10 years. Inexorably drawn to the urban environment, her images are often heavily centred around shape and texture.
More often than not, Elizabeth’s award winning creative photography has been snapped in far-off, exotic lands as she embraces her other great passion – world exploration. From the majestic mountain ranges of Hokkaido to the vibrant streets of Havana and the eclectic charm of Melbourne, Elizabeth immerses herself in the culture of the places that she visits, always camera in hand bringing back captivating images from her own unique perspective.

    Story Behind Art Print: Modernist

As photographers, we call the hour before sunset the ‘golden hour’. It’s that time when the light is beautiful and soft, and has beautiful orange and pink hues. It’s my favourite time to shoot, as the shadows are flattened and line, texture and shape are enhanced.

“As I wandered down the Malecon (esplanade) in a small beach town in Mexico, enjoying that beautiful time of day, I marvelled at how the locals came out to enjoy that time too. It was like the sleepy town had woken up as the intense heat of the day had eased, and it was now the time for kids to balance on the sea wall, couples to share an ice cream and families to ride their bikes along the path. Even though most people sat facing the ocean and watched the spectacular sunset, I was captivated by the modernist hotel facing the ocean and the colours reflected by the sunset.”
